Field trip to Rabdentse
RABDENTSE Rabdentse located near pelling and in west sikkim district it was established by tensung namgyal , the son of Phunstog Namgyal the first chogyal of Sikkim. Rabdentse was first established in 1670 by the second chogyal tensun namgyal. The height of the Rabdentse ruins is 12,313 ft. The Rabdentse ruins are part of Buddhists religious pilgrimage circuit starting with the first monestry at yuksom. Rabdentse ruins is the archeological site that tells sikkim's story of glory .untill 1841 AD,it was the second capital of Sikkim, established the Nepalese invasion in 18 century,the place and the monastery complex was destructed and turned into ruins. Entering inside Rabdentse you can see small restaurant and toilet facilities are also available there , there is also a small stall where tradition dresses are kept if interested we can wear and click photos but we have to pay money ,there is also a shop where spicy sikkim made achar are kept.
